Venue: Glenview Mansion + private residence.

All of the family members came up and tied red strings around their wrists, bearing the blessings and wishes for the new couple, a ceremony called Bay Khon Chang Dai.
“We tie, we tie three strings to each wrist of our children. We wish for true happiness and success to this couple, who will always be together like wet grass seeds.”

This is the first time I’d ever shot a Cambodian wedding and it was several hours of gorgeous, colorful clothing changes and different ceremonies, including presentation of the dowry, the hair cutting ceremony, the tea ceremony, and pairing ceremony. I loved that there was a break in the middle of the ceremonies for everyone to go and eat! All of these amazing cultural details and such a lovely couple made this one of my favorite weddings from last year.
